Dear Sami:
The PM organizational structure has changed. The fundamental skill sets of the personnel necessary to carry out the organization's mission have not. Your PM experience is still needed in the new PM organizational structure. Contact the company's human resource/personnel department and/or the PMO's management and inquire about the current and future personnel needs of the new PMO.
Good luck.

Hi Ruffin,
Thanks for the great presentation earlier - "Leadership Strategies for Organizational Development and Success".
There were lot of take away and thought provoking ideas. Very helpful.
Thank you Ruffin,
But I believe that because it is totally new, there is no any plan for that. I mean they just came up with the idea of PMO and they kept the details for the people who signed for the PMO.
We are in public sector where we usually undertake the details of high level strategy.
The strategy deteramnes that we have to open PMO. However, as we are project mangers, we need to figure out what we need to make the PMO be successful. Saving Changes...
I guess my coworkers are working hard on it but my concern that they will say ok Sami you just done from studying master degree of engineering management and you earned PMP, so come with us help on PMO. Saving Changes...
There are some sequence / steps to obtain the PMO.
a. Define the objectives of the PMO – clear statement what the PMO will achieve
b. Sponsorship – ensure sponsor provides PMO with mandate and publicly communicates
c. PMO tools and processes – what functions / services will the PMO provide
d. PMO organization – roles and responsibilities, engagement models, etc
e. Engage and communicate – make sure stakeholders know what is going on and that there is a 2 way flow of information
f. Regular routines – get the reporting up and running as a priority to demonstrate progress and to start providing value
g. PMO charter – capture all of the key points in a charter that can be shared
Many phases will take to achieve this.
There are many training courses available in online for PMOC. Saving Changes...

The only way you will be get success when you make this type of things is performing a needs assessment inside your organization. The reason a PMO to exists is because some organizational functions or process that are defined because the organizational strategy deserves to be located inside a new business unit named PMO. Time ago I wrote an article that was published by the PMI and IIBA as "best practices". Perhaps it helps. Here the link: http://www.projectmanagement.com/blog-post...-right-solution Saving Changes...
