Today, I attended the PMI BA Virtual Conference and it was my first "Virtual Conference" Experience. Frankly speaking, it was a great and rich experience in many ways of which one of them was Networking.

How did / will those virtual conferences bring value to you as a professional ?

I see this as a great opportunity to attend to those events independently from where they are orgainized (global event) on from the timezone.

I agree with you Gianpaolo, it is a great opportunity. However, they are completely virtual and follow the Eastern Time Zone if Im not mistaken.

The value for me is continuing my professional development leveraging these events to stay immersed in the communities discussions and activities. The wealth of experience one can obtain from listening to these seasoned professionals, for any of the virtual events, is significantly valuable.

I was unable to attend as much as I wanted yesterday. Things came up unexpectedly that took my focus away. There's a few I have earmarked for on-demand viewing.

Honestly, it would be great to have them to listen to as podcasts.

Andrew, I totally agree with you. Although I almost fully attended yesterday but I do not anticipate that I will be able to do so in the future due to work but as you said, we can plan to attend couple of live sessions and the rest on demand if time doesn't allow for full attendance.

On another note, you prefer the On-Demand to be on a podcast rather than webinar style ? Sometimes there are some figures or pictures, tables that can be associated with the presentation so probably they need to tailor the presentation in order to make it suit a podcast.

It was my first virtual conference too and was really enriching. I gained valuable knowledge on Business Analysis. Virtual conferences have made the world shorter. People all over the world can easily access them.

Not prefer, but supplemental to. Definitely correct in some without the slides, too much context would be lost, but not all. Maybe its me, but I like to listen to people who really know their stuff talk. Its relaxing, and I do well learning and absorbing from it. I've been a talk radio junkie for many years, since a child. .... Okay, maybe getting too deep now : )
