Hello Community,
assume that you have a project/program with several documents/directory's/tools ...whatever, where you have always store and provide some generic project/program information like the title for instance, right?
What information should be included here from your perspective?
Please consider that this information has to be held actual over all these different documents and so on (hopefully somehow automated, right?).
So we need to find and commit to the lowest common denominator, i guess.
Here is the suggestion:
===============================
Project/Program #: (if given)
Project/Program Title
Project Manager
brief Project/Program Description
Executive Sponsor:
(other)Key Stakeholders
Team Member List
==================================
I am already doubting about the last two .. maybe this information could/should be stored somewhere else, what do you think?
Any feedback is highly appreciated. The result will be implemented in our "MP4PM" initiative.

One simple option could be the core information; you're top 3 items, included on the preset template files used. In addition, there can be a one page document with more information, with all items you mention above, with the addition of Business Value or Justification, as a separate file which is linked in each document. - Assuming a central repository with necessary access (e.g. SharePoint).
Thanks Markus.

Hi Andrew,
thank you very much for your great input.
In fact i just implemented yesterday a kind of a "dashboard" what would exactly fit to this part of your comment: " ...In addition, there can be a one page document with more information, with all items you mention above, with the addition of Business Value or Justification, as a separate file which is linked in each document. ..."
Maybe that sounds all a bit confusing actually, but it will become clearer soon. In the beginning of the new year we will do a webinar where we present the overall structure of "MP4PM" (planned date is actually the 10th of January).
Project information Is various and recorded in the different names of documents but top three above mentioned, start date and expected end date, customer organization and the main location might be commonly included in any format of information.

Great points Sungjoon,
we think about adding the fields
customer/client: (needed for external projects)
key milestones -
--- Start Date:
--- planned End Date:
--- other MS: (here could be added as much as needed/useful)
I am not sure what you mean ny "main location", could you explain this a bit more? thanks.

Markus,
I do agree with you that the Team Members list maybe should be recorded somewhere else (Maybe here you can record key team members only).
If it was me, I would add:
-Start Date
-Completion Date
-Initial Estimate
-Final Cost

Hi Rami,
thanks again for contributing.
Regarding the dates, i have them included now (like described in my answer to Sungjoon's post).
Regarding Initial estimate and final costs, would you agree that it might be best to include this information (like some others as organizational chart e.g.)
in what i have called the "dashboard" in my answer to Andrew's posting?
The generic information we discuss here should be included in every single "MP4PM" map and should give a brief overview to the most important lets say more "static" project information.
All the other relevant information which most likely will change over the project's course will be stored in this "dashboard" map; this map will be implemented in every other "MP4PM" map per link and is accessible at any time this way.
What do you think?
Regards,
Markus

Hello Markus,
The location is where the project is to be executed or being executed in case that location or area matters.

Yes this works as well - It is a matter of where you want to put what. Good Luck.

Hi Sungjoon,
ok, thanx, got it now.
May be it is cause i am out of the IT industry where most of the project meanwhile kind of virtual projects and the location do not really matter ...
But i understand that "location" could be important; i am actually thinking about to create a so called "map part" for this, so this piece of information could be easily added at any time.

Ok, thanks Rami.
I guess we will start off like described and see how this will work (may be at least in our sample role game).
It could be changed any time and the material will be highly flexible, so any piece of information could be added, deleted, pushed around at any time.

Markus
