A couple things you need to take care of in Performance testing: perform testing on the real thing, not a (reduced) test bed. Ensure you test with real load, not just a simple script on one of the servers. make sure you use real use cases and not just for example http requests messages. You will want to test database behavior, find latency and detect I/O bottlenecks. For cloud, this becomes even more interesting as you will want to take into account elasticity, both vertical and horizontal. Saving Changes...
