You are at the right place Jeff. This community is a great community, you can learn a lot, access lots of information, earn PDU's, attend webinars, network with many PM Professionals and so on.

Welcome on Board.

Jeff, Welcome.

This community is really a great place to be for all of that. Plus, if you link your PMI account, all PDU's are transferred automatically.

I also like MPUG, and the PM-Podcast series.

The best place is inside a project playing any role inside the project. I learn a lot spend my time in this site reading people comments and inside linkedin. After that, depending on your local PMI chapter, you can learn by participating inside it.

I agree... you got to get your feet wet and start 'hands on' in some sort of supporting role. Then you can also get more education formally on the side, and then grow into higher responsibility roles and apply your skills.

Contracts management, finance, and scheduling might be three supporting roles where you have the opportunity to work closely with a PM on a project. Good luck!
