Anupam, That story, more than just about any other PM work experience affected me the greatest. It was quite an interesting day to have 800 to 1,000 people instantly made at me. And, they were quite vocal about how they didn't like what I had done too.
The vacuum cleaner part is also quite interesting. My wife had no idea who this big guy in Sears that came up and started to talking me. "Who WAS that guy?"

Oh, and it occured in Texas, USA where yelling at someone is basically an art form. :) Saving Changes...

Exactly correct Akshay. Like most of us, I didn't start off to be a project manager. It just happened. "Accidental PM." But I had the advantage of a well structured PM organization and I'm forever thankful for that.

I've added a picture of the handmade award I mentioned in the article. It's rather crude and starting to get "foxing" in one corner. But, I'm not as good shape as I was 37 years ago either. Saving Changes...
