Work as a Practitioner - PDU

How do you calculate the PDU's to be claimed for Work as Practitioner. Does this have any formula or years of experience gets? How do we put PDUs against Work as a Practitioner experience?

Hello!
Is there a minimum amount of time you need to list for the dates in order to claim these PDUs? In other categories, 1 hour equals 1 PDU, but I'm assuming we can't just claim all 8 PDUs based on one day of work. Or can we?

Just in case anyone is reading this later, I just got my 8 hours by listing 2 weeks of work (10 business days).

Hi All,
What I understood from above thread, that we can put 5pdu each year but at the end of the 3rd year it must be max 8pdu. In my case one more point is my PMP is in suspended state, and trying to complete remaining pdu claims so I added 15 hrs (15 pdus) from May 2018 to Mar2019 worked as practitioner but it is not reflecting any number of pdu. Does new system not consider even 5 PDU if it is done in last year (3rd year) and 4th year??

Hi Aejaz,

there is no formula or so. It is pretty easy.
You can claim maximum 8 PDUs per cycle (3 years) and maximum 5 PDUs in one year.

Example:
first year = you claim 5 PDUs
second year = you claim 3 PDUs
third year = no PDUs for "work as a practitioner" left ...

2nd exmaple:
first year = you claim 2 PDUs ofr "WaaP"
second year = you claim 3 PDUs for "WaaP"
third year = you claim another 3 PDUs for "WaaP"

Hope this makes it a bit more transparent for you.

I recently enquired (via chat with PMI) if one could claim PDUs for "working as a practitioner" for work other than a project manager, but which nonethless would utilise skills employed in project management. The response I received was an unequivocal "no".

I probed if the title needed to be "Project Manager". The response was "Not the title but the work should be as a project manager".

Here is what the CCRS handbook says on pg 13:
"Each day, your work in a domain area related to your certification(s) allows you to apply your knowledge and skills in a practical setting. Using these competencies actively contributes to sustaining and growing the profession."

That seems more inclusive a statement than the interpretation I was presented over chat. Any thoughts on this, and advice on whether "non-PMs" should seek PDUs under the Working category?

Hi,

I was working in Atos Global IT Solutions (Apr14 to dec18) and i did the PMP certification in the month of Dec17.
However i left "Atos" in dec18 and joined "Datamatics" from Jan19 till date.

As mentioned above, when you are applying for PDU's under "Work as a practictioner" category:
1. You can apply ONLY ONCE in this category within a 3 year cycle
2. In a single year you can apply a maximum of 5 PDU and next year 3 PDU.

When i went on to CCRS portal to apply for the same, i saw that you can mention ony 1 employer at a time. So if i mention Atos (jan18 to dec18) it will only give me 5 PDU's and i wont be allowed to apply again to claim the remainig 3 PDU's.

Can anyone please guide me as to how should i claim all 8 PDU's in this category ?
