Hi Satish,
For a start globalisation means that teams don’t have to be collocated. Organisations are geographically dispersed, so for a PM, trying to coordinate, communicate and control virtual teams brings its own problems.
Different cultures, working practices, competing business interests, extended supply chains are often tricky waters to navigate.

Let me share a very good definition of globalisation given by Levine Institute , the State University of New York:
"Globalisation is a process of INTERACTION and INTEGRATION among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology"
This is very important for a project manager to be aware of true aspects of globalisation in order to meet the challenges offered by projects being implemented in a global scenario. Saving Changes...

Hello Satish,
I hope my reply isn't completely off topic but I can say what Globalization is not; it is not toothpaste that can be put back in a tube!
I think as a Project Manager and a resident of the globe it is important to stress the effects on the citizens affected by international trade and communities. I hope I didn't just step into a grammar trap! Global practices must be responsible and ethical.

Good thought Sarah, your reference is to deliverable in project environment, if I correctly understood, and it is very well meaningful in the context of the question asked.
You seem to have referring to a wider meaning of the delivery to serve a mass of divergent users, spread across countries, and if you closely watch the definition of Globalisation, it includes interactions and integration, application of these two processes ensures a comprehensive delivery in a globalised environment.
Ethics in business in my opinion and experience is some value imbibed in the culture of an organisation and saves it from perishing in the long run. If I am refer to an example on ethics side, ENRON can be examined.
Thanks for bringing in thoughts, I would love this topic to be explored further as we live in a flatter world.
