A successful project needs a detailed and well-planned Project Management Plan. I'm looking for an excel version of project management plan. Have you got some templates?

Hi Nambi,
Project Management Plan in Excel? I would have thought such a text heavy document would be easier to reproduce in an application like Word.
Is there a specific reason it needs to be in Excel?

i agree with you, the common way to produce a project management plan is with MSWord.
But in my case, the objective is to make people focus on important fact, to pre fill and/or to automatize updates ( as we have a ppm tool).

"the objective is to make people focus on important fact, to pre fill and/or to automatize updates".
These can all be met through Word.
On a more abstract level, the project management plan is more about processes: how things will be managed. I don't know what you have in mind to pre-fill or automate.

Another alternative is to use both Word and embed excel elements (Object Linking and Embedding) within the main Word document. I agree, I have never seen this done before; but you must have a reason. Saving Changes...

Although I mostly agree with my peers above, a previous company I worked at used excel as a workbook, with many worksheets for the various documents. It was all templated out with required information to be captured. And whether or not its the right way, it did work for them and suited their needs. Unfortunately i do not have a copy of it.
