Attend local chapter meetings and networking events, if there are any in your area. Talking and listening to people in a non-work setting helps strengthen and sharpen those soft skills.

As for the adaptation, we know communication is mission critical in any project. So by strengthen those communication skills, it becomes easier to use in project development.

I hope that makes sense and helps.

If I understood your question correctly, I believe your soft skills as a project manager shouldn't be any different than those required for project development. However, group sessions and online material will be of great value in such situations.

Look at situations from the developer's point of view and learn as much about their field as you can. Developers tend to get frustrated dealing with people who cannot understand why something must be done a certain way, or what constitutes complete requirements. Putting yourself in their position and helping them be productive is a great way to build the trust and goodwill that you need to keep your projects moving.
