Having Meeting minutes on screen live, suggestion of software?

I have seen a few away to have meeting minutes updated live using software. But so fare it was always with standard Office software (Word or Excel mainly).

What is your experience?

One that you have specially liked? Why?

My experience is the same as yours and we sometimes use OneNote as well on a shared portal so everyone can see the updates.
I love OneNote and use it extensively in organizing my projects. We also store meeting notes on a shared drive and I have frequently been told that team members refer back to those notes often.

Years ago, we used SharePoint 2010 which had a built in template for meetings. You could enter all of the meeting information (attendees, topics, links to project items, etc.). And we'd take the notes right on the screen during the meeting. Everyone was pretty happy with it as they all had access to those notes if they needed to review anything.

However, when we upgraded to the next version of SharePoint (2013), this feature wasn't available any more. I don't know if it was due to the version that the company purchased or if it was removed across the board. I haven't looked at SharePoint in a while so I don't know if they ever added that feature back, but it was pretty awesome.

SharePoint need sizeable organisation? I have use it for after the fact meeting minutes (Documenting), I didn't know it could be use that way (Iive).

One Note has worked very well for me. The fact that is it a Microsoft tool makes it very handy to share and edit by everyone. At my current organization, we use One Note to revisit the list of ongoing and future projects and edit the notes. Thus, one may have all the notes from various meetings in different sheets within One Note.

I've tried MS OneNote, and I've also tried EverNote, and both ended up being too cumbersome for my needs.

Now I just use a Word document that's been set up as a template for meeting minutes.
Then I send out pdf copies to all meeting participants/stakeholders at the conclusion of the meeting.
It's simple, it's effective, and the pdf copies provide a "read only" project record.

With that said, I have never been in a situation where I needed to provide a live update of meeting minutes.

For MOM,
- I especially like to record the call using Skype recorder in case of Skype call,
- Takes short notes in notepad/doc in case of chat, audio call or in-person meeting
- I have template prepared in excel, which I usually send after meeting to all stakeholders

Any medium of recording or sharing which would save the time of all stakeholders to be on the same page will be the best practice.
