Is there any recommened Lessons Learned collection template or software?
I typically see the use self made spreadsheet so I would like to know if there is a template or software that you use or consider a good practise to be used.

Hi Diogo,

In the templates area of the site there are lots of options. Check it out!

Edit: Looks like the quick link didn't work. Search for Lessons Learned, click 'Change' and filter down the results by selecting only relevant boxes.

I know I am not answering your question, but let me say. To be effective you have to consider lesson learned as a component inside a Knowledge Management system. System not as synonim of software. You have to search into the internet about components and process that belong to a knowledge management system.

Hi Sergio,
I totally agree. That's why I am looking for an effective way to store/collect Lessons Learned so that thay can be easily checked and used to improve future projects.
It doesn't as to be a software but it sure as to be user-friendly

Hi Diogo,

As others have mentioned, there are quite a few Lessons Learned templates available here for download if you search under "templates" using the search feature. However, I have found that most of these templates are typically for collecting data, not for storing and retrieving information (Lessons Learned) at a later date.

Most suggestions I have received for the storage and retrieval of lessons learned were to build out a SharePoint or Access database, if the goal is to be able to share this information with multiple PM's or teams.

I would be interested to learn of other storage and retrieval options and will be subscribing to this thread. :)
