I see an option to 'Vote' a question/answer in discussion threads. What is it?
Where it is counted and displayed? Any link with the influence rating?

^ not sure what happened here. The comment displays under contributions in my profile .... weird, even the Edit button is missing. Must have forgotten a closing quote ...

If you look at Project Management Central, you will see the votes displayed. The count you see is only for the OP, not a total count for the thread.

I do not know if it counts toward one's influence rating, but seemingly, it would. Or is giving votes adds to ones influence, which should not. As a whole, we in this community do not 'up-vote' deserved posts enough. I try to do it when I see a post I agree with, but not as much as I should. Maybe, we should try harder to do so.

I do not think the site is set up in a way that threads with more votes show up first in search results, but nonetheless, would attract more attention to the thread.

Also to note, you are able to vote on your own post - which is a social no-no, but, shhhh, I won't tell if you don't.

I click the "Vote" button when I like one question or answer, like this, maybe I don't have to write only "thanks" or "I love this question waiting for community answers".

In the discussions you can order by votes or by answers, from my point of view, voting the great questions helps to have it organized.

Regarding influence...o idea.

Exactly Mayte!

I usually vote when I agree with what was written. When I'm on the main page and I see a question with a title that I can contribute or interesting.

The votes tell me that the debate might be interesting.

Votes is just like any other feature. When someone votes it means they agree with your reply. The more votes you normally get, it increases your influence by time but influence is related to many other things as well.
