I got the following email from [email protected]:
TITLE: Project Management Institute issued you a new badge
The message reads "You've earned a badge from Project Management Institute" It's followed by a PMP badge and an 'Accept your badge' link. I saw no mention of a badge when I logged into my PMI.org account.
Is anyone familiar with Acclaim? Or is this a rather decently executed scam? Saving Changes...

Eric,
I received an e-mail the other day regarding a new digital badge program by PMI.
Here is the info that I have:
"PMI Launches a New Digital Badge Program with Acclaim"
Now you can proudly display your PMI certification in your email signature, on your electronic résumé, and on your LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter profiles through PMI’s new digital badge program.
Your badge, hosted on the Acclaim platform, gives employers verified proof of your skills and qualifications. This includes real-time authentication of your certification (which you worked hard to earn) and when you obtained it. The best part? Your badge comes with job market insights to help you find new opportunities.
There is no fee for the PMI digital badge service. Simply accept your badge and start sharing your achievements.
What’s Next?
Here are the steps to receive, accept and start using your new digital badge:
1. Look for an email from Acclaim between 30 May – 23 June. Since badges will be issued for over 750,000 certifications, we have planned a timed roll out in groups. Do not be alarmed if your colleague receives a badge before you do.
2. Follow the steps to accept your badge.
3. Display and share your badge wherever and whenever you chose.
4. Enjoy all the professional recognition benefits that come along with your new digital badge! Saving Changes...

Thanks everyone. I figured it was safer to double-check, lest I infected myself with ransomware. Saving Changes...

Eric, it is not a scam. But I think you have already made that determination by now. Saving Changes...

Seems to be legit. I just received the e-mail to accept my first badge (for PMP credential).
PMI had the following website for Acclaim listed as a go-to reference.
I does seem really useful and it leaves a good impression wherever it is placed. Thank you PMI! Saving Changes...

I have received it too. When I read all related to this initiative I decide that is very useful mainly because you have a lot of information about what the certification means in terms of effort mainly. So, I use it. Saving Changes...
I got this too, and since there was no fee, I signed up. Saving Changes...

I got my CAPM badge already and put that on my LinkedIn profile. What I like about the badges is that people can view the information via Acclaim and see what it takes to earn the certification, and the skill set that comes with it. Most often people aren't aware of the blood sweat and tears that go into earning a PMI certification. Saving Changes...
