Project Management Survey: main dificulties faced by project managers as they use methodologies based on the PMBOK Guide

Hello,

First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Caio Balthazar and I am about to finish a project management course. In order to get my certification I am performing a survey with the goal to identifiy the main dificulties faced by project managers as they use methodologies based on the PMBOK Guide.

Dear Caio , There should not be any main / great difficulties when we follow / try to implement methods as per PMBOK. It is a guide or standard only.
I mention the below quote from PMBOK Guide which is mentioned in the page of " Purpose of PMBOK guide.
" this standard is a guide rather than a specific methodology. One can use different methodologies and tools (e.g., agile, waterfall, PRINCE2) to implement the project management framework."
So, try to adapt as per your organization's requirement's , resource availability etc.,

I agree with you and I understand your argument. Maybe I was not clear enough. I know it is necessary to adapt the PMBOK Guide. But here in Brazil there are some “difficulties” stated by project managers when they try to use the PMBOK as a guide or standard only. For example:
- lack of historical information; and
- organizational structure of the Company.

My goal is to confirm these difficulties reported by project managers.
