How do you manage the User Accepting Testing - UAT phase? Which tools and which methodologies do you use while the PMO?

UAT is also done by third parties on behalf on customer for accepting project outcomes.

1. I work acc to UAT plan, which is earlier aligned with the whole Project Team.
2. Make sure Testing scenario are ready and complete
3. Every tester should know what to test, if test volume is high it should happen acc to priorities
4. Everyday quick status call to see what is the testing progress and whether there are no critical findings..

We use HP ALM (Application Life Cycle Management) . We have found it to be extremely useful in documenting Test Cases and Executing them. It also provides Traceability to user Requirements . The pre and post sign off on the test cases and execution respectively is electronic and this tool integrates with Active Directory.
I recommend this to anyone working in a highly regulated environment who requires visibility of their test execution.
The Onus is on the business users to execute the UAT but Test Managers and Test Analysts can guide them on the proper use of the tool and also help create their test cases and hold their hands during execution.
We use it too.
