How different are S4/HANA Projects from SAP ECC/R3 implementations? What about Activate vs ASAP?

I'm an experienced SAP/ IT Applications Project Manager but still didn't have the chance to manage an S4/HANA project (Or using Activate methodology in an SAP ECC project).

Based on the radical changes brought by S4/HANA from the app POV, is it also radical the change of managing this new kind of projects? I'd also like you to share experiences using Activate Methodology (either for SAP ECC or S4 project).

Dear Mayte Mata,

I am writing to ask for some information. I will manage Sap transformation from one entity to another and data migration. Could you pls provide me som plan or any proposals how to manage without any delay this project ? How much time we can 3 months is enough ?
Hi Radovan,

If I could answer the question about if 3 months is enough with the information that you provided, I would be the "fairy of SAP projects" not a project manager.

The project plan and therefore the schedule will be directly proportional to the size of the organization, the team, the amount of data to be migrated, if you are going to use an external data migration system or your team will do it with LSMW or SCATT load systems...

If you'll provide more info, maybe I will be able to help you...

But being my self an Ex-IBMer, I know that maybe:

- This information about your client and information could be confidential, then you couldn't share in a public forum

- In your department or business unit, you'll have tons of templates of similar projects. I will encourage you to look for them.

But let me know if I can help in something else.

Good luck!
