How do I find an opportunity in Construction or Community Development as a PM, any input?

I am currently pursuing my MBA, focusing my education towards Real Estate Development. I would like to be a PM in the industry of Construction or Community Development. Since I lack the experience, I would like to obtain an internship or volunteer opportunity. Would anybody be able to give advice on the best way to gain experience? I will be passing my CAPM exam later this month.
