Can I run all my projects using Excel Project Management templates?

I usually prefer Excel sheets for project documentation hence PM templates comes handy for me.
I am curious if every thing can be managed using only project management templates?

The answer is yes you can, but would you dig a hole with a spoon. Get MS Project or a cloud based Poject Management software. Excel is good to track issues.

Yes, excel worksheets can be used as Project Management templates in almost all the processes. However, many organisations have inbuilt tool/templates for their management processes. Many of these are altered for the need of the organisation and are much simpler to use than the excel templates.

Yes. There are a lots of templates on the resources area. You can tailor them to fit your needs. I use one excel file, with several sheets, to track requirements, actions, risks, issues, Q&A, etc.
Nowadays i'm substituting the excel file by an access database.

I would say you can use excel. However, you need be aware of the risk of having errors in the calculations - as you create links and separate worksheets it is easy to create errors embedded in formulae particularly when copying. The other issue acn be when you attempt to share or handover your spreadsheet to someone else. It Is is easy to personalise an excel spreadsheet in a way that it is difficult for others to be able to use without misunderstandings.

To avoid these mistakes I use Templates. Templates comes very handy for me.
