If the local PMI chapter has nothing to offer, are there any additional resources to leverage when seeking for opportunities to volunteer?

Steven,

I've seen some posts on Indeed and other job sites advertising volunteer positions and project management needs. If you set up a notification filter for this type of work it may return some nice opportunities for you.

Great suggestion John. I haven't looked at Indeed in a LONG time. Never thought to utilize it in that manner. Thanks!

Steven -

Aside from PMI, why not reach out to your favorite local not-for-profit organizations as they usually have ongoing needs for volunteer with leadership skills. That way you get the benefit of both helping a worthwhile cause AND gaining leadership experience.

I'd echo Stéphane's suggestion on the VRMS - you can look for opportunities to help PMI's Global Operations Center. That could include contributing to a standards project or doing a webinar.

Ciao!

Steve D. aside VRMS have also a look on pmief. https://pmief.org/
Thing about helping PMIef in your local community. The mission of pmief it to stimulate the use of PMI techniques in schools, since primary to highschool. Always looking for PMs experts to tutor schools.

I am into your position. In fact, I tried in the local chapter where I was the leader of the Agile Comunity or practice. As Stéphane said, look VRMS.
