Hey guys

I'm facing a problem with my influence score. I reached 80's two months ago. Now my score is reaching 51 & decreasing. Because of that, I'm prohibited from writing blogs.
I'm an active member. I add connections, reply to discussions... etc

Is it just me or is there anyone facing the same problem ??

I'm not sure about the influence algorithm, but it probably has to do with regular contribution, as in daily, and also how much traction you get from discussions etc. Did you slow down your content output over the past 2 months perhaps?

I did slow down yes. But still contributing on a regular basis.
It went down from 80 to 50 in no time.

That does seem to be a massive slide. However the algorithm is obviously tried and tested, so I am sure there is some justification. Why not contact the admin here at [email protected] and ask them?

Adnan, I have not noticed anything, besides a point drop/add here and there. The linked thread has a quote from a previous response from PMI on a question I sent them pertaining to Influence. Continue to contribute on a regular basis! it will eventually adjust.

Thank you for the explanation. It seems like climbing the mountain is much difficult than sliding down after all.

I'm like Andrew, moving up and down a wee bit. I found that posts on your blog don't seem to add a lot to your influence. On the other hand posts on discussions seem to boost your influence.

Yeah but a 30 point drop seems dramatic. There must have been a serious decline in content and involvement.

Yes, it seems sliding down the hill is very easy and happens very quickly. Kind of a bummer but keeps everyone current and up to date on the influence part.

I still don’t understand how it work, posting to discussion seem to be the one thing that impact the most
