Some profiles do not have the "Connect" button displayed under their profile picture in a list so you need to go to their their profile to connect with them. Anyone knows why ?

I've identified a couple of causes for this, Rami:

1. They don't have a public profile set up for ProjectManagement.com
2. Their public profile is only available to members within their network

It's possible there are other reasons for this...

Kiron,

Thanks for your feedback. It makes sense but then why would they have this button available when you actually get in someone's profile.

If someone has no public profile yet, it is best to not have this button at all otherwise what's the point. Right ?

I guess if someone takes the time to actually visit the profile, they are "rewarded" by being able to send a connect request...

Well, not sure this is the purpose behind doing this on some profile.

I have encountered few profiles like the one's you mentioned. And at the top of their profile page, there is a note that this person has not made a public profile. Like Kiron mentioned. Probably that is the reason.

I did encounter this but I also encountered many others who had a public profile as well but yet, the same happened.

I haven't figured it out yet. Sometimes the public profile is missing, sometimes the bio/résumé is missing and sometimes nothing apparent is missing.

It definitely seems to happen on members with minimal profile information. I'm just not sure what the exact trigger is.

Exactly, I am just curious as to what triggers it.

I believe it one of the profile setting for "Contact Preferences" or "View", set by the user to something deferent then default!

Contact Preferences
- Allow ProjectManagement.com members to contact me through ProjectManagement.com
- Only allow ProjectManagement.com members in my network to contact me
- Do not allow ProjectManagement.com members to contact me through ProjectManagement.com

or

View
- Show my public profile to everyone
- Show my public profile only to ProjectManagement.com members (require login)
- Show my public profile only to members of my network
- Temporarily hide my profile

I am not sure if this is the case Vincent because the public profile, if there, it is available, and the connection button is available as well but only when you go into their actually profile page.
