It seems 20% of the people on this forum (and in the wider PM community) deliver 80% of its content. More like 5% people producing 95% content. In that case, how do we know that our views and expertise aren't in the minority? Saving Changes...
Hi Sante,
I joined the PMP community recently and I was eager to contribute. I wrote an article entitled 'The Do's and Don'ts of DFMEA' which was published on the 11th of December 2017. Maybe it is too early but unfortunately not many people are showing interest. If you think that not enough people are creating content I challenge you to support, encourage and motivate those who are just starting. If there is no reaction why should we bother to contribute ? Thank you.

Hi Nenad, articles are just one of those things, people read/comment if the topic is relevant to them, rather than it be about them not engaging. One issue I find is the way topic categories are formulated, it's not easy to find new content. But I agree with you that we all should support, encourage and motivate new or silent members.

From a pure ego-stroking perspective, I might increase my contributions over the holiday weeks just to see if I can get my headshot to show up in the website banner :-)

Kiron, I'm sure you're kidding ;-) and also not sure that works anyway. I have checked those profiles out from that banner and some have very low influence.

I appreciate any comments or reviews on my postings like the "Expert Judgment" from PMBOK Guide. "Quality" of the answer is my concern instead of "Quantity", however I also like many countings of comments ;-)

I don't believe that it's only those who are less busy that contribute to the community. It's about where you are in your journey and what adds value to you, professionally or personally. Saving Changes...
1) People may feel they don't have the required knowledge/expertise to contribute.
2) Time allocation to write or produce a good/great article because no one wants to start off with a bad/not well written article. Saving Changes...

I would draw a parallel to the active citizenship concept.
Here's a well written study which draws some conclusions.
My take from here is that the percentage of active members is strictly related with the use of the stated opinions / contributions in the day to day activities. Like Stéphane said, the value added to each individual may vary, so their contribution. Saving Changes...
