One of the most integral parts of individuals managing the project is discipline. While each leader has their own perspectives and methods of operations, I am curious to find what is the best way to build the discipline?
Do please share your perspectives, learnings, and experience around discipline. Saving Changes...

My suggestion is to apply governance parameters that guide practitioners to adhere to the desired discipline. Of course, mentoring and coaching from senior/knowledgeable PMs is inherent to developing the necessary skills for expected performance.

Till it becomes second-nature or you hit Gladwell's 10,000 hour threshold, using checklists, following a playbook or using a coach are all ways to start to build discipline into your PM approaches.
This is why it helps for many PMs to start out as PA's/PCOs supporting a senior, disciplined PM on one or two large projects or programs.

Discipline is about deferring immediate gratification for long-term gain. By constantly practising control of your personal and professional urges, you can build the the discipline to achieve your goals.
For example, refrain from answering questions unless absolutely necessary. Instead, help people work through their own answers.

Definition of discipline: "the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour, using punishment to correct disobedience". Is you like to be successful in project management then search for other term. That is the problem with culture. I understand you are from India where the culture is totally different like in South America where I am from. At the end, the term must not be used in project management unless you are using it in this other definition: "a branch of knowledge, typically one studied in higher education".

Sergo Luis Conte, I agree with the dictionary definition. While we refer that meaning, it does also mean something different in the context of individuals understanding.
I am curious to learn what the best way to build the discipline (not from punishment point of view) That also dos not reflect upon the culture, as I mainly managed projects for American customers as well in India.
To agree with you I am not using the term in project management but referring it to the context of individuals who manages projects. The term can be considered under Leadership, PMO, Resource Management. Thanks for your guidelines. Appreciate that.
