I have a large, hybrid Cloud application migration starting. Can anyone point me to some good guides and workbooks on Cloud application migration? My client hasn't decided on a Cloud technology vendor yet, but I would like to start getting the application assessment going. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Exactly!! Find the apps that are not mission critical and test them in the cloud first, then migrate them. You will get some early wins and that will keep the sponsors happy.

I would suspect that the vendor will be able to work your migration. Perhaps don't give them all the work up front, just part of it...with the incentive to get the rest of the work if they are successful with the initial work?.

Also, I would definitely do this in phases.

I love your idea of giving them a 2-3 application migration audition before giving them the big contract. Thanks!
