Hi All,

I am planning to give my PMP exam around last weekend in Jan-2018. My company doesn't follow PMP practices. I am not getting proper confident on my theoretical knowledge. What should I do?

Hi Nidhi,

Manage your time during the exam properly. The mock exam may help as a guideline in stimulate PMP exam but I found that real exam environment is distracting because there are other group of exam takers who seat in the same exam room or may just next to you. Do not expect exam environment to be ideal as you wish. Other than theoretical knowledge & application experience, you need strong mentality & focus of this lengthy & stressful exam.

Wishing you a great success.

Review the PMBOK and write mock exams as many as possible. You may need to review a book like Rita as well. It is not a hard deal if you focus on what you really read.

At this point I would focus on the mock exams. These will make it clear where any weaknesses are. Try to find mock exams from more than one source to get a good coverage of the different types of questions. Good Luck!
And if by chance you do not pass the first time, don't worry. It happens to many. You can then focus on areas that need additional work and retake the test.

Hi Nidhi,
my process was:
1) All PMI basic and advanced project management courses performed
2) A book in Italian with all basic information (a sort of zipped info very easy and quick to read in preparation for the exam)
3) Rita's PMP Exam Prep book + CD with exam simulations (remember that also the time used in the exam is important to correctly manage for stress potential issues so perform the full simulation a lot of times)
4) PMBOK , especially for memorizing the list of "input - tools&techniques - outputs" for the different topics
5) also remember to study and digest all needed math formulas (earned value, ...)

Good luck, you'll do it!
