Agree with the resources above. Motivations means different things for different people. In matrix organization, same people have tasks from their functional parts too. But from project side, try to build a good approachable environment to team. Available to team members, chat on daily basis to understand their goals and reviews throughout the project, give incentives even with some recognition helps.
