Project priorities manytimes change fast and frequently. Also, there is no guarantee that a goal set at the beginning will be relevant after few weeks or months. How do PMs monitor, integrate and analyze information on team performance in real time? Do you use Digital Dashboards and Performance Management Systems?

Start with the goals you are trying to achieve. If it's improved team morale and increasing productivity then identify appropriate ways of measuring those and then capture and report that information in a low effort manner.

A simple thumbs-up, thumbs-down survey at the end of a sprint is a light weight means of assessing the former.

Thanks Kiron for your input on this, it sounds good to me,
I think performance measurement should include process for continuously monitoring team performance and for taking timely corrective action.

Great suggestion by Kiron.

Try also to use a low tech approach. Create a weekly spreadsheet listing all team members with their goals for the week. Request a short status to be noted in the spreadsheet at the end of the week next to their goal. This will hopefully initiate more accountability and you will have a good historical on performance.

Najam, thanks for your input on this.
360 reviews are a good way to provide team members with feedback on how they are doing but they must be well designed to do so effectively.
