For those of you who have read the sixth edition of the PMBOK- What are your impressions? Do you like the changes from the previous edition? Are there any areas that could use additional improvement?
It's on my to-do list to review the newest edition, but I have not had a chance to yet. Saving Changes...

No. However, I received an email to register for a free webinar that discusses the changes in the latest addition from International Institute of Learning (www.iil.com). It was very informative.
Title: A Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge - 6th edition- What you need to know?
Webinar Agenda:
*Overview of Changes
*Project Management Framework Changes (Chapters 1 - 3)
*New Knowledge Area Introductory Topics (Chapters 4 - 13, introductory sections)
*Knowledge Areas and Processes Changes (Chapters 4 - 13, core sections)
I presented a webinar a few months back highlighting my good, bad & ugly so if you are interested, feel free to view the 45 minute session here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4wDvBaq02s
While I do like some of the nomenclature changes, the addition of the new sections for each knowledge area (especially the tailoring considerations) and the expanded content on the role of a PM, I found some of the ITTO wording changes to be unnecessary and was not happy about their dropping some key tools such as a Pareto chart and CCPM.
Looks interesting, although there is numerous content on this website which covers the same topic. Saving Changes...

I was part of the group of authors and reviewers. About the differences my recommendation is reading the apendix where changes are listed and explained. My work on the group was tried to integrate things like business analysis and Agile (not software, Agile at enteprise level) across all the related guides including the practice guides (program, portfolio, project, business analysis, and others). So, this is a big change and if you ask me you will find the new PMBOK Guide easy to understand mainly who to create things from it to be applied into your daily work. Improvements? Obviously. But the only way to improve it is to participate into the exposure draft review for example. Next time hope you will able to participate.

Thank you for this information, Sergio. I will start with the appendix when I do finally have time to review the sixth edition.
