I am looking to connect with PM's and PMO Leaders whose company has transitioned to SAFE. Please contact me if you have transitioned or are in process of transitioning.
Kiron, I wish DAD was covered in Mike Griffiths book; I guess it means it's not on the exam. Do you happen to know the best source overview for this?
No scaling agile content is on the current ACP exam, but it's possible that since a variety of frameworks are referenced in the new practice guide they could show up as questions in the update.

Sergio, Andrew, Kiron and others... 2 questions based on your experience...
1) What role did the PMO play in the inplementation of SAFe and what role do they play now?
2) Did PM’s who transitioned to an RTE role see it as a lateral move, step forward or step backwards for their career?

1-the same than today assuming you are talking about a real PMO office or let me say a PMO office level 3. I mean, a PMO that is not a mere work force provider.
2-critical is to understand what is a PM in your organization. Talking about a real PM (not a person that are making micro management for example) you have to map the PM role definition into your organizations to SAFe roles. You will notice that some responsabilities are shared by PMs and BAs and not problem with that. See the role definition on SAFe. To do that is better to understand the role defintion on Scrum, that was changed recently.
1. I've seen two distinct approaches, both of which have worked. In one, the agile transformation was led by an executive and team outside of the (E)PMO and effectively marginalized the PMO's existence. In the other, the PMO was front & center running with the agile transformation. In the latter case, the PMO leaned out its own practices and standards to be an effective & efficient support group for delivery teams.
2. I've seen both - where the organization committed to SAFe or the rebranded PM left the organization and became a hired gun, they saw it positively. Where the company was just "doing agile", such transitions were often the kiss of death (at least in those companies) for the rebranded PMs.
