I would suggest if you are prepared well for being able to attend for the old course exam, then you should with the old format, otherwise, you can attend with the new course. Unless you are confident with the exam preparation(in terms of time and the passing) you can wait for the new course. As of now, there is no special benefit for someone that had written PMP with the new course material, from a job perspective, but from a knowledge perspective, you will have a better edge from an Agile model- Project Management. The difference should be minimal. I prepared for my exam using the new course material but sat for the old course exam.

I assume we are speaking to the PMP exam and the upcoming March change....If you are ready, take it now. Current iteration or new, with a successful exam, the result is the same - PMP designation!
In short, there is no benefit either way, from an exam perspective. Material wise, there are some nice additions in the new guide - PMBOK v6 - though, the designation itself will not have any distinction of which exam or the content.
If you can book an exam date before March 26 and prepare sufficiently that you are confident you can pass, take the old exam. I say this as there are plenty of good quality materials and lots of useful advice you can gain from people who have recently written it.
If this is not feasible, then I'd wait till June or July before taking the new exam to ensure that some knowledge of the actual updates becomes known. Right now, all training providers are guessing at what will be added or modified but there is no actual data to confirm whether these guesses are accurate or not.

If you have prepared basing on 5th edition and can get your exam scheduled before 26 Mar as mentioned in earlier comments than there is no point in waiting. But if you are just starting the preparation than you should wait and focus on 6th edition. Saving Changes...
