I have intentions to certify in GPM. In my country (Argentina) there is a person that are certified coach. As far as I can find out the requirements must be taking into account because are totally different than PMI“s certification requirements. For example, you must be presented or recommended by two people that certify that you have used GPM related things into the projects you have presented as part of your project management experience. Beyond that you have to take the preparation courses. That is because I am in doubt to start my certification journey. I do not like this type of requirements.
Sergio yes she is great. I am looking into hosting a sustainability conference in Boston and having her speak. She is excited with the thought of coming to Massachusetts.

Riyadh, is very important what Elaine stated: only if it makes sense for you, your life, your company. This is not a certification like other of the thousands of certifications outside there. When you face the challenge to get it you will understand why. In my case, while I do not agree 100% on things GPM said (pehaps into the strategy) I believe and practice in my personal life what GPM stated and I am working into an organization that firmly believe on that not because marketing or publishing but because the whole organization is practicing it more each day. I did not start the process because some requirements like find people as references on my practice of GPM into projects is a hard work for me.

I heard it's getting popular Rami. It will be interesting to watch this post for others who know more about it.
I heard so too and it is very interesting to me as it is part of what our organisation supports.

Rami - caution. PMI is not part of GPM. Very different. PMI is not against it but they are separate organizations. I say caution because PMI police might be concerned about the implied connection on many different levels.
I will post this to the group in case this message is only seen by you.
No harm just being careful.

Rami -
Why not send a message to Richard Maltzman - he's very focused on sustainable PM and could likely give you some useful insights?
Kiron
Thanks Kiron.
I trust our colleagues already covered everything I needed to know to encourage me to move forward. I sent a message to Dr. Joel Carboni as well who is the President of the GPM - He is on our PM Portal here as well. Saving Changes...

I have held this certification for the last 3 years and am familiar with the material. I deliver sustainable presentations and also deliver the training material. How can I grant you more information? I am in Massachusetts.

Elaine,
Thanks a lot - I received your feedback and it is very much appreciated. As I mentioned, this certification makes lots of sense to me on many ways of which one of them is that we aim at delivery green sustainable buildings to the best we can so my company is in full support of this initiative. Mounir Ajam
you are correct
someone just asked if they could pass this exam by just studying 3 different pages
-- this is not a certification where you achieve it on paper - sit back and business rolls in. You need to apply the knowledge. You really need to believe in and apply sustainability concepts on your projects - in your life. You will explore areas where you can reduce waste, make changes in how resources are consumed, address how and what you purchase that is most important. It does not have to cost tons of money to be sustainable.
Many of the discussions are very enjoyable and allow you to work on how you can get your team and your organization on board without them experiencing a major transition.
If you believe you are too old to care about the condition you leave this planet - please at least care of the condition it is left for your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren ...
Not going to start lecturing here but the final solution to global warming is not to head to Mars and do it all over again.

We can answer your question and help you figure out if your company can benefit by a program or if you can add more value with sustainability management approaches.
This is the second time I hear you mentioning 3 different pages ? What pages are you exactly referring to ? Not sure I get what you mean.
I believe one would never pass this exam if they do not have at least the minimum amount of experience and deeply understand all concepts of sustainability and project management. It is not an easy domain at all. Ive been there and was at some point considering the LEED.
I just recently heard about the GPM and it grabbed my attention for many reasons. It is a great program and now that I understand it is globally accepted, thats great. Saving Changes...
