In wartime, almost all projects will be war-related or humanitarian-related. Which would you choose to manage?

War-related, humanitarian-related, or just be neutral?

Thats a tough one. I would say humanitarian related as I know i would be involved in something which is going to contribute happiness in someone's life.

p.s:That doesn't mean that those working on war related projects are not right from a ethical point of view.

I agree it is a tough one.

Humanitarian related.

This is a good question! I was going to immediately say 'humanitarian', but using project management to help end a war quickly instead of letting it drag on can save countless lives, both military and civilian. Therefore, I'd have to say I'd work on the war projects in the name of humanitarianism.

Eric spot on, you took the words right out of my mouth. That is the option I would go for.

Depends on the project's objectives. As Eric said, a rapid conclusion to a lethal conflict might save the need for a lot of humanitarian projects...

Kiron, I think when the first shot is fired, people may change their minds, and swing the opposite way from the original stance they held. Thank goodness so far I (and I suspect most of us) won't have to go through this. It must be harrowing.

Interesting Najam, I can't imagine the emotional struggles you might have to go through sometimes , especially if "war related" turns into war time.
