Scope per PMI

It defines: "Project scope is the work required to output a project’s deliverable"

I don't think I agree with that. The work / effort to create a project deliverable isn't scope. I agree with PMBOK version 6 pg 722 (glossary): "Scope. The sum of the products, services, and results to be provided as a project."
