Dinah - I am actually on to the next three (PMI-SP, PMI-ACP) and CCP (Certified Cost Professional from AACE International).
What entices me ?
- I have more than 10 year of solid exeprience in Scheduling, Budgeting, Planning & Estimating.
- As developers & project managers, we do lots of Estimating, Budgeting, Scheduling, Planning, Risk Management, Stakeholder Management.
- Since the past 3 - 4 years, I have also been involved with Scrum & Agile on so many different levels and I find that this is something that we can incorporate into construction ad real estate development on so many levels.
- I also have been managing programs for the past 5 years but I will leave the PgMP for next year probably.
What Benefits ?
- Great Achievement - Career Advancement - Higher Salary - More doors & options open - Employers Support (My employer supports professional development in those areas) because in our line of business, when you have certified & qualified people in your organization, this encourages people to work with you.
All areas are related together so while I was studying for my RMP, I covered Cost, Scope, Time and other areas. This has been an on going process since a while so if I have the time to study, have enough expertise in each area, my employer ecourages this and I actually work in those fields on daily basis then give me one reason Why Not ? :-)

That is very interesting. I had toyed with the idea of continuing on for additional certifications and am always curious about the benefits of different ones.
You are so lucky that you have active employer support. My employer says they support me, but not financially.
I have realized that at this moment in time, I need to take a step back and look at where I want my career to go in the future. Then I can better focus my efforts. Plus I am still on a high from getting the RMP.
I'm interested, did you ever find any study resources for the PMI-SP?

I found the PMI-SP exam fairly simple in comparison to PMP exam. Primary resources to follow are:
1. PMBOK (Focus on Time Management part)
2. Practice Standard for Scheduling

It is always good to always know in which direction you would like your career to go.
I personally strike a balance between the competitve market, my field of expertise and what actually helps me at my current work. I’ve been in the same field now for 15 Years and know exactly where I want to go with my career and I am very confident that all those certifications will help me shape and achieve my future goals. I might not be able to do them all this year but I will at some point. During the 1st Quarter of 2018, I am satisfied with what I have achieved in terms of Professional & Personal Development. My employers supports and cover part of the expenses but not everything which is totally fine and reasonable. Companies who invest in their employees are actually investing in the company itself.
With regards to the RMP, I am on a high too as I just sat for the exam 2 days ago but I like to keep the momentum going so I won’t loose motivation between my personal and work life :D
