Related to IT projects, what if you are an expert project manager in your project field and you are doing technical tasks beside your management work. Is this right?

It depends on the project and if you have the expertise to assist without impacting the project negatively. You would gain the respect and some credibility with developers, in the case of software development project.

Agreed with kiron’s points. Mostly about ‘balancing act’, ultimately the borders established btw all parties involved must be respected by all, and beyond this where governance takes control and should do their job too.
