It really depends on the project. I became a Hybrid-Plus PM.

Reach into your PM toolbox and select the tools that will make the project a success.

Please let me say that you do not have to confuse methods/methdology with life cycles, just in case. PRINCE2 is a method (methdology is an incorrect word commonly used). So, with basement on the PMBOK Guide, you can create your own method linking knowledge areas, process, tools, techniques using a life cycle model (predictive or adaptive) and a life cycle process (waterfall, V, Spiral, Iterative, Incremental, etc). You can select to use a method too (PRINCE2, Scrum, etc). In my actual work place we use 5 different methods created by ourselves plus Scrum.
