How to claim PDUs for "Other Giving Back” in the Share Knowledge area

After I received my PMP. I started sitting down with colleagues mentoring them one-on-one at work, home, etc. I am unsure if I can use that for PDUs and if so, how to record in CCRS system. When I chose the Share Knowledge it asked what organization did I mentor through and etc.

Am I able to claim those hours and what documentation will I have to provide if challenged. Thanks for any help in advance.

I submitted one under this category for a mentorship I have provided, my request was approved but they didnt give me any PDU. Any advice?

There's a maximum number of PDUs which can be earned under the Giving Back category so if you have hit that max for your certification cycle then it wouldn't be recorded against any of your credentials.

Others can benefit from your experience and knowledge. Keep track of the time you spend mentoring and teaching and claim it towards re-certification. An example of this can be sharing your knowledge in a discussion group at work. If you have a group of professionals sharing knowledge, if you attend those activities, you can claim PDUs.

For instance, if you’ve explored the ways of using AI in project management and want to share this knowledge with your colleagues, you can earn PDUs through this activity. You can gather in a meeting room and share your knowledge with your colleagues.

PMP renewal PDU course programs are the most popular way to earn PDUs among PMP-certified professionals.
