Overview

As human beings, we don’t like being changed. Even things we like doing become much less appealing when we feel forced to do them.

We do like change when we feel we are making a choice. When we feel invited.

As project managers, how we show up as human beings influences how people engage with us.

Often we fall into the trap of commanding and directing and our results match this. We may chose a different path by inviting people.

When we are inviting, we take a risk. And we take a chance. That is compelling, and creates momentum, drives engagement. We increase capacity available to our endeavour, within our context, and within the people who make the choice to join and help us.

Presenters Olaf Lewitz and Michael Sahota will share simple models and practical tools that enable us to invite more engagement, tomorrow.

Learning Objectives

Do you like change? Most of us don't - especially when it's forced upon us. However, we all recognize that change is inevitable - especially in project management. Project Managers Olaf Lewitz and Michael Sahota will teach you new ways of how to help your team adjust to change and getting them to work with you rather than against you. When we are inviting, we take a risk. And we take a chance. That is compelling, and creates momentum, drives engagement. We increase capacity available to our endeavour not just within our own context but also within the people who make the choice to join and help us. Attendees will learn about how to invite team members to engage with you rather than directing and ordering and learn practical tips on how to get your team engaged more effectively.
