PMP + GPM-b = Sustainable Project Excellence
As project professionals, we are constantly presented with choices. Do we go this route or that one? Do we follow the tried-and-true or explore the new? These decisions are usually framed as binaries—either/or scenarios that paint progress as a zero-sum game.
But I’m here to say this: The GPM-b (The Certified Green Project Manager – Basic) is not an “or.” It’s an “and.”
And more than that, it’s the “and” that transforms your PMP certification into a powerful engine for sustainable change. It’s where traditional project performance meets long-term impact. It’s where project professionals stop asking “How much can we deliver?” and start asking “How well can we deliver what truly matters?”
The PMP has earned its stripes. It’s the gold standard in project management for good reason. It teaches discipline, structure and execution. It brings rigor to the often-chaotic world of delivering change.
But as we face down the accelerating impacts of climate change, biodiversity loss, widening inequality, and stakeholder mistrust, we must ask a bigger question:
Is excellence enough if it’s not sustainable?
That’s why we created the GPM-b. It’s not here to compete with the PMP. It’s here to complete it. And now it both a GPM and PMI
