PMI Greece Chapter: Project Management Is Human Work
Bart has been in ecommerce for over 20 years, and can't imagine a better job to have. He is interested in all things agile, or anything new to learn.
There is plenty of “science” in project management. There are tools to learn, frameworks to understand, certifications to earn, and processes that can make projects run more effectively. But knowing how project management works and knowing how to be a project manager aren't quite the same thing.
The PMI Greece Chapter has been finding ways to help students bridge that gap. Across its Student Club programs, the chapter is creating opportunities for students to learn from experienced professionals, work alongside one another, and practice the human skills that are harder to teach in a classroom.
That human element shows up in very different ways. A conference connects students with professionals who can share what the working world is actually like. An escape room-style challenge puts teamwork and decision-making under pressure. And a six-month mentorship program pairs students with experienced professionals who can provide something even a supportive family or university sometimes can't, a perspective that comes from having already traveled the road ahead.
Bridging the Gap
One way the chapter is helping students develop those skills is by bringing them closer to the people already doing the work.
