Preparing for the Exam with PMBOK Guide—Fifth Edition (Part 4): Scope Management
I noted I was in the most eastern part of North America while writing the third article in this series. While I travel, I try to do what I can to get some exercise. That said, although my intentions were to get outside in the cold coastal air I don’t want to give the impression I’m a fitness specialist. I’ll be the first to admit I tried lots of the local seafood and wasn’t afraid to wash it down with some local brew.
You may be the same way. Perhaps you had some time off work recently and had great study plans. Perhaps you have meant to commit to starting your PMP exam preparations, but good intentions often get pushed to the side by the realities of life. It really doesn’t matter; those days have passed. Now would be a great time to commit to getting the certification process complete. Go back and read the first three articles, grab A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide)—Fifth Edition and let’s get at it. Turn to Chapter 5 and we’ll explore Project Scope Management.
This latest PMBOK Guide has added some refreshing consistency. Take a moment to return to the table on page 61 and note the first process in eight of the 10 knowledge areas.
