20 Years, 20 Timeless PM Lessons

Can you believe it?! It’s been 20 years since ProjectManagement.com—called gantthead.com at the time—first opened its online doors on February 27, 2000. Since then, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds, adding a wide variety of voices through our practical PM articles—and vastly growing our online community in the last decade.

We changed our name to ProjectManagement.com in October of 2012, became part of the PMI family at the beginning of 2014, and added our sister site ProjectsAtWork to the family in 2017 (which still lives on in Aaron Smith’s blog!).

Through it all, we've made it our mission to help you navigate this ever-evolving profession by addressing trending topics and offering career advice. Each and every reader like yourself has enabled this success, allowing us to grow and thrive. The site has more than 10,000 articles; 2,000 downloads to help make your job easier; 10,000 blog posts; 15,000 discussion threads; and 1,800 on-demand webinars. We started offering videos in 2008, and those offerings skyrocketed with the launch of the on-demand webinar videos in 2014—helping us present around 150 live webinars a year.

2008 was another huge year for two other reasons: We launched PMXPO, our annual online virtual event (the 13th annual one is coming on March 26!) that has welcomed more than 30,000 “live” users …
