Stakeholder Management in Healthcare PM
The case below is something many of us may have experienced over the last few years with a work meeting—but it also illustrates the partnership and coordination mechanisms among various stakeholders involved in service delivery, surveillance, community mobilization, and governance of COVID-19:
After attending a meeting a few weeks ago, Mary* became ill with a cough, headache and high-grade fever. The manager in charge of the meeting informed the guests that one of the attendees had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning home. Mary promptly got herself and her family members tested and was happy to see a negative result.
In addition to alerting attendees, the manager had sent a report to his county's local COVID-19 monitoring facility. The county managers sprang into action with screening and checking on the vaccination status of those in the area.
Upon finding a few positive cases on screening, the surveillance officials alerted the state public health department, which oversaw COVID-19 surveillance. A report of the surveillance testing was then sent to the World Health Organization.
