I prefer Face to Face collaboration with my team which covers all aspects of communication. Since our work involves working with geographically distributed global teams, second best would be virtual and then phone. Email would be last option.

Congrats for the new website!
I prefer virtually communicating with teams since it''s centralized, and I can keep records on one place.

Face to Face is great, but usually impractical for geographically diverse teams. I prefer virtual with video, chat, web-conference, phone and email, as needed. I definitely prefer face to face for kickoffs of project and major phases, when budget and schedule allow.
It is a privilege and an honor to be a member of the PMI community, and I am very actively preparing to become a PMP. While I've been a project manager for 40+ years, the PMBOK Methodology truly is a major advancement in the science. In hindsight, I wish I had access to this technology much earlier in my career. Looking forward, I'm anxious to apply this methodology in managing my next project.

My question was: How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?
I enjoy the fact that I can now collaborate with team members that are working in a virtual capacity via email, lync, go-to-meeting, etc...., but I still prefer to collaborate in person when possible. I like the face to face, relationship building, feeding off of one another type of input that you get from in person collaborating.
The question I received was: "How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?
My personal experience tells me collaboration in person with team members is best. However you cannot avoid situation when you have to take other, less preferred route to collaborate.

I'm In favor of collaborating in a virtual coffee house with remote members connected with high quality video and the near members with their favorite cup of joe!

Always in person whenever possible!
How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?
When it comes to collaborating, it really depends on the situation. Obviously you cannot do an inperson with a person sitting on the other coast or in a different country. But, if the situation warrants and needs extreme collaboration and things like budget, time permit, you should make every effort to be there in person.
With that said, we should be flexible enough to choose the medium Virual (webex, gotomeeting, desktop sharing, etc), phone, IM, email etc. These are the latest and greatest tools to collaborate successfully.
Without using any of the tools, in person is best only when you are co-located. And that too, if the other person is busy in meetings, obviously, that can cause delays. Simply in those situations, things that are one-line or few line answers or clarifications could be resolved if the person is able to respond via IM or email.

Great looking T-shirt! Would be great to wear during the awesome Atlanta July 4th Peachtree Road Race!
"How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?"
Experience dictates that early meetings on a project should be face-to-face if at all possible. While the F2F meetings may be postponed, the sooner you meet your project team and stakeholders in person, the easier it will be to work with them through the life of the project
The question I received was: "How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?
Our team is a virtual team spread out across the United States and I have become very adept at collaborating with team members virtually and I prefer that means of communication. I do, also, make it a point when I am in the area of one of our teammates to add the personal touch of meeting with them in person in order to put a name with an animated face (not just a photo).
Congratulations for the new home
