Face to Face, Virtual, Email (in that order)

I prefer face to face, however, in many instances, the team may be remote. Thus, it makes sense to have a conf call as part of the meeting invite to ensure everyone is able to attend.

IM/chat when possible for quick items, then audio conference for meetings.

How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?

I think it depends on what the collaboration entails. In most cases if the issue is one that can be discussed without meeting in person I prefer meeting with team members virtually. If this is a bigger discussion I believe in person is the only way to go.

nice job on the migration. Still a little lost on where to find stuff. Guess that happens...

I prefer collaborating with team members in person. But that is not always practical or possible, so I use webex virtually, via email/phone. Just requires some planning in documenting the ideas and share it ahead to have a productive discussion.

PMI is an awesome place to network and bouncing off ideas with people who has the same goal as you do. I am looking forward in talking to some brilliant people and learning new things.

I prefer face to face

My collaboration preference is dependent on the project. I generally find a mix of in-person and virtual to be very effective and provides some amount of flexibility.

The question I received was: "How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?

I prefer in person over any form of collaboration as this enables a 360 degree feedback. However, this is very challenging as 90% if my team members are dispersed across the country, therefore I have to adopt a blended mix of email, phone, and occasional in person collaboration methods.

Congratulations Projectmanagement.com... ;)

How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?

I prefer to collaborate with team members in person. But circumstances always does not allow to do so. When you collaborate in person there is high probability that you will get the most accurate picture. And also you can convey your message correctly, get the feedback spontaneously by the means of verbal and non verbal.

I prefer face to face collaboration, however in this increasingly virtual world webex seems to be the way to go. Video has helped and will continue to help. Collaboration rooms, real time smart board collaboration and sharing of documents all add to tighter team work.
