It depends on the situation. I prefer face to face communication. I will use other methods if f2f is not possible. I do have some virtual team members. Keep up the good work Project Management.com.
Today's business environment demands all sorts of communication forms, depending on every situation.
Face to face is definitely the most personal way to collaborate and, in my experience, helps to avoid a lot of misunderstandings, which could happen through other ways of communicating (e.g. email, virtual etc) Unfortunately, face to face communication is not always possible, especially in a global set up. However, technology has advanced a lot and offers practical alternatives with Videoconferencing etc.
Even though Email is still predominant in our company I think it's also the worst way of communicating (although it has advantages too, e.g. written "audit trail")

"How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)? "
For me, it depends on 1) how well I know the different team members, 2) how well they know each other, 3) the specifics of what we're trying to accomplish.

My first option would be Face to Face
I love the new consolidation web site, so much simpler!
How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)?
I prefer non-urgent issues to be addressed via email, because that's how I personally like to file and track my own to do list. I also like to collaborate on documents with version control in Sharepoint.

Good Luck to all

"How do you prefer collaborating with team members (virtually, in person, via email only, phone, etc.)"?
I prefer the face to face contact. Communicating is more than words spoken or in type, in person leaves less to be misinterpreted. There seems to be a quicker and better exchange of ideas when everyone is in the same room physically.
Personally would prefer face to face, but again depends. If the situation demands formal communication then email would be the best option. Choice would be depending upon the team geographic location and the kind of communication( one way or two way) required.

I prefer collaborating with team members virtually, because of the flexibility it provides.
Congratulations on the new site.
