No matter how well you plan, there are always something that was not planned, which leads to some level of pain point during the project management. That's where the experience of the PMP helps. Hoping to see some relief when we get to read this book.

The most painful moment as a PM was when my client's expectations were not aligned correctly with what was purchased, planned out, and agreed to be completed. Having to satisfy and meet the needs of the PA were challenging, but one in which the outcome was achieved and appreciated. That customer validation was critical to the project's success.

Looking forward to read this book. It is always painful to make people understand project's critical path, which is great part of the successful project.

The most painful moment of a project manager is when the contractual agreements were not made clear at the start.

Sigh ... ProjectManagement.com should BOLD their terms and conditions;
"Sorry, but it's open to U.S. residents only (it's a legal thing)"

Great idea! I am looking forward to receiving this book. My hardest moment as a Project Manager was completing the project tasks while the company was going through the major change.

The most painful moment I've experienced is when the start-up was going better than expected and the project team decided to accelerate the start-up, then we had a contamination issue that we caused by unexpected overloading of the system, causing weeks of trouble shooting, fixes and expert help being flown in.

The most painful moment for me was when a project was deployed into production and we found out that the vendor we partnered with deployed a similar application. Our new application was not needed because in a sense it was a duplicate. Our application was harvested within 6 months of being deployed.

The most painful moment as a project manager is being assigned to a project where the sponsors want the project completed without establishing a charter and do not actively participate.

The most painful moment was pulling the plug before implementation.

Most painful moment encountered was when a sponsor and a technical lead kept the truth from me about major decisions.

This would be a wonderful book to read as I'm knee deep in new project management processes at my new job. So excited for the opportunity.

Working on a project you know ultimately won't get implemented but management won't pull the plug.
