In celebration of our March 16, 2015 Open House Event, we're giving away the farm! No, just kidding. We're just giving away copies of Dave Garrett's book (pictured left).
Three lucky winners will receive an autographed, hard copy of Dave Garrett's (co-founder of ProjectManagement.com) book Project Pain Reliever: A Just-In-Time Handbook for Anyone Managing Projects.
Dave's book is so awesome it's even being used in an MBA class at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Of course, Dave also makes all of his team members read the book as a condition of employment.

Most painful moment is scope creep and slow authorisation process.
Lack of commitment of Management

It's a GREAT day to be a Project Manager!!!

Most painful moment was realizing that folks are always multi-tasking when holding project calls (given the virtual team we now have on projects).

What has been your most painful moment as a project manager?
I think I saw this answer, but I completely agree, reluctance to change. A lot of times when you are implementing a new IT solution, processes need to change to conform to the new workflow. People are scared of change, even if it makes their job easier.
Getting that phone call from the customer sponsor, saying - Joleen, you've got 10 minutes to get a conf call setup and I expect answers to 1, 2, &3....
Rafi Soule
Project Manager| Qui@cle Technology Solutions, Inc.

I read the preview. Would like to read the entire book:)
When we brought a project through the design and testing processes and when we started rolling the training out to end users we found a HUGE challenge with the way people perceived the design and the 'expert' put on the team had no respect from the end-users. EPIC FAIL! and lesson learned since we never got that project to completion.
Julie Doyle
Senior Consultant| Integrated Project Management Company, Inc.
Acton, MA, United States
My most painful moment is getting people to give me updates, whether they are good news or bad. They do not seem to understand that hiding bad news just leads to more horrible things happening.
Most painful moment in PM is when you notice that the sponsor is no longer interessted in the project deliverables and project success.
Mike Hayworth
Senior Logistics Manager| Leonardo DRS Land Systems
Bridgeton, Mo, United States
What has been your most painful moment as a project manager?
Taking over in the middle of a project that has challenges. Documentation is key to understanding what has happened so far in the project. Without this documentation, the start up is much more difficult.

Most Painful Moment: Discovering a data error near the end of a project and having to recalculate all of the results.
Conrad D'Cruz
PM Consultant| Netswirl Inc.
Apex, Nc, United States
What has been your most painful moment as a project manager?
Losing critical resources during a critical phase of the project!
Joseph Jordan
Program Manager| Trace Systems
Herndon, Va, United States
"What has been your most painful moment as a project manager?" Trying to complete a project for the customer while my own quality assurance team wanted to measure our progress using metrics that were totally irrelevant to the scope of the project itself.
Looking forward to read this book.
John Chiaramonte
President, Consulting Services| Mission Critical Partners, LLC
Leesburg, Va, United States
Always looking for good suggestions to improve my PM skills. Continuous learning is important!
Deirdre Rogusky
Principal Consultant| Sensei Project Solutions
Nh, United States
Most painful moments are thinking you have everything lined up to go forward and someone in the 11th hour says, "what about.....?" That one little question can literally tear the wheels right off.
Kristina Leslie
Project Manager III| BCBS of North Dakota
Davenport, Nd, United States
This book sounds like a good read for any PM!
