Thanks! It's based on how few projects start with a clear scope anymore. Most projects seem to be immersed in fog, and as we cut through the fog, we start to capture requirements. This continues until funding ends, or the project is no longer needed. It's like Agile, without thinking too far ahead. I'm never sure when it's scope creep, or requirements gathering by feeling through the project.

Ahhh, and here is my daily limerick! :-)
An undefined scope was the start /
I worked to define my own part /
Management roared /
A discordant chord /
Now scope management is black art!

You read my mind! Just finished up a project just like this! We were given pieces of a map however, we had to actually make the map as we went. Kind of like a puzzle!

Robert, this one clearly resonated with lots of people here. Requirements are at the very start (and heart) of any project and if we do not get them right there is no way the project will be successfull. I like the comparison with Agile as it offers a way to get out of the requirements fog using short iterations and fast feedback. However Agile is also about prioritizing the work and if sponsors and/or stakeholders only start to think about what they really want when the project is already underway, time will be wasted.
Thanks again for this wonderful Haiku!
